About

For improvisors everywhere

The goal of Jazz Lessons Now is to make the process of learning jazz and improvisation as straightforward and intuitive as possible.

Nearly two decades teaching jazz and improvisation has left me with the firm conviction that we all have within us an innate musicality. By breaking down the improvisational process into clear manageable steps, my aim is to help you access this musicality and play the inventive musical solos we all strive for.

My approach to teaching jazz and improvisation has been honed over thousands of hours of teaching and is proven to get results (just check out some of my testimonials below). Regardless of your level of experience, the practical advice you’ll find at Jazz Lessons Now will give you the skills and confidence you need to express yourself freely on your instrument.

Whether you dream of performing with your own group, playing at your local jam session or simply enjoying the thrill of jamming along to your favourite tunes, Jazz Lessons Now has got you covered.

So check out the lessons to get started and happy practicing!

What my students say...

"A skilled performer himself, Jonny will rather understate than overstate his technical credentials. Learning from him in a series of improvisation classes was a true pleasure and a route to greater competency. His ability is even more to the fore in one-to-one sessions. Give him a try."
John
Clarinet
"Jonny’s lessons are fun, informative and practical. I always look forward to the next one and find myself growing in confidence after every session. Hoping to achieve grade two soon!"
Derek
Tenor Sax
"I was part of a wonderful community jazz group led by Jonny. Everyone was catered for, from enthusiastic improvisors to those needing a little more guidance. It was a wonderful group to be a part of and I’m grateful to Jonny for what he brought to the group."
